goofing around lifestyle session Fort Campbell, KY || the Buterbuaghs

I love when friends and family trust me with their family portraits! I personally believe it is the highest compliment you can give a photographer. When Chris asked me to take his family pictures, I of course said yes! His new bride and her children were such a blast to get to know. I’d worked with Chris for a few months in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), he was one of my first friends at Fort Campbell, KY, and already knew how much he liked to joke around, but after meeting the rest of his family, I knew I was in for a treat.

We spent the afternoon by a lake in Clarksville, TN, letting the kids be kids while mom and dad got some down time. I think you need to let kids be their goofy, normal selves…plus it makes for some of the best, memorable photos! During family sessions I always let the kids run while I snap a few of the parents, you guys need those moments too! I love that Jennifer went with such gorgeous fall colors to match the warm tones we had. It was so much fun talking back and forth on outfits. That’s one of the perks when you work with a custom portrait photographer. Everything from the location to your style is unique to you. As you can see, we had a great afternoon taking their lifestyle photos!
