Home sweet homecoming Fort Campbell, KY || the Comforts

Fort Campbell, KY homecomings have wiggled their way deep in to my heart. It could be because I’ve had the pleasure of serving with the Screaming Eagles, or it could be because of the many special homecomings I’ve photographed of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Soldiers reuniting with their families.

The sweet Comfort family waited many months for this special day. Their daughter, so sweet and shy at first, quickly warmed up to me, passing the time with her stuffed animal and dancing in the middle of the hanger with other children. Moments ticked by slowly as we waited for their Soldier’s plane to finally touch down and the agonizingly slow minutes as they deboarded. But the wait always pays off when you see a family finally reunited! Thank you so much Comfort family for letting me capture your special day, and welcome home Maj. Comfort!

You can see their gorgeous fusion video below. These unique videos are included with all portrait sessions. For more information on fusion video homecomings please email info@sammiedphotography.com.
