A boy of fall Clarksville, TN || Daymien

Sometimes, being a photographer’s son means humoring your stepmom and sucking it up while she documents another chapter of your life. In this case, it meant freezing in a field beside a Walmart Market parking lot right before turning your Kenwood Knights Clarksville Jr. Pro jersey in for the season so that I could grab a few photos. But really, can you blame me? The light in the field was amazing and I just couldn’t get over how much he had grown!

I love mini sessions like this because they are quick, but document so much! This marked the end of an era for us as the next football season would mean I finally had a high schooler on my hands, it meant watching him grow into the man he’s going to be, and it might have also meant the official onset of full blown teenage attitude shortly after these were taken LOL! But I have these photos to look back at with a smile and marvel at how much he’s grown in a year.

I’m a proud football mom and love doing these small sessions for other moms. We pour so much time into making sure our kids are fed properly, equipped with the safest and best equipment, tote them to and from practices all year long, the least they can do is tolerate a quick 20 minutes for us to slow down time. Don’t let these moments pass by in the hustle of life. So here’s to the boys of fall, and my own teen athlete. <3 (And if these photos weren’t emotional enough for me, the final image at the bottom of this post took first place in the Clarksville Riverfest Juried Art Show this year! It was my first time entering and both my images brought home first and second place, a huge honor for me!)
